Cervicogenic Headaches

Cervicogenic headaches are headaches which as the name suggests originate from the cervical spine. Cervicogenic headaches are often difficult to diagnose because the pain originates somewhere other than the head. Cervicogenic headaches are very common amongst weight-lifting athletes, whiplash suffers and those who have been concussed. The headaches are often triggered by specific sustained neck positions or movements. The neck pain usually precedes or is present with the headache and the etiology of this condition are uncertain. Here at Back to Back Chiropractic, your chiropractor in San Jose we can help diagnose this condition for you and then begin treatment. Treatment will include joint mobilization, traction, myofascial release, postural taping, exercises, cold laser and activity modification advice.
